As 2025 draws to an end, Executive Director Philippa Nairn looks back at some of the most challenging moments in the eight years she spent with the Marie Colvin Journalists’ Network, and the reasons why she remains hopeful that MCJN will continue its mission to support Arab women journalists across the region.
Next summer marks the 10th anniversary of MCJN’s establishment in honour of Marie Colvin, the Sunday Times reporter who was killed in Homs, Syria, in 2012.
Today, we are a thriving community of more than 370 Arab women journalists, supporting one another through networking, mentorship, and other bespoke services.
Our work is made possible thanks to generous donations and grants from our supporters around the world. Learn more about how you can support us in our mission here.
